Medical Records Research Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the record keeping activities pertaining to releasing and retrieving medical records for research projects. Ensures all medical records are tracked and released according to HIPAA guidelines. Being a Medical Records Research Coordinator may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Research Coordinator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

This position is responsible for assembling patient information into patients medical charts/records in accurate and complete manner.

Education: High school diploma. Associates degree from a community/junior college preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years of medical records specialist, preferably in medical practice setting.
