Medical Records Research Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the record keeping activities pertaining to releasing and retrieving medical records for research projects. Ensures all medical records are tracked and released according to HIPAA guidelines. Being a Medical Records Research Coordinator may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Research Coordinator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. You will be instrumental in maintaining medical records according to government regulations, professional standards, and facility policies / procedures. You will ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical records, necessary for the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.
You must be able to positively interact and communicate with the leadership team across multiple facilities. You'll also need to be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and obtain ICD-10 CM Coding certification within 90 days of hire.
