Medical Records Research Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the record keeping activities pertaining to releasing and retrieving medical records for research projects. Ensures all medical records are tracked and released according to HIPAA guidelines. Being a Medical Records Research Coordinator may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Research Coordinator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Medical Records Coder – Full Time Days
Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Cumberland Hall features individual units for youth, adults and active duty military, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average over 1500 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cumberland Hall Hospital.

Job duties to include:- Process all medical records to include assigning numbers, making folders and filing.
- Provide routine information and fulfill requests from physicians and nursing units.
- Analyze records for completeness.
- Process correspondence and release information according to hospital procedures.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Health Information/Medical Records, Applied Science Office Systems, Technology/Medical Administrative Option, or equivilants. RHIT or Certified Coder Experience in ICD-10, preferred.
Experience: Two years experience preferred in coding health care information, medical terminology, confidentiality, filing, and other health information procedures.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to identify and code diagnostic information by DSM nomenclature. Must be able to read and understand English.
