Additionally, Medical Records Supervisor coordinates with clinical and technical professionals to maintain robust records management systems and manage data for analysis and reporting. BILLING/MEDICAL RECORDS REPRESENTATIVE
· Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients; assure confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations
· Candidate will maintain scanning and filing of documents in an efficient manner, respond to fax requests, ensure patient records are sent to requested appropriate location(s) and prepare an invoice for documents that are provided.
· Prepares and ships records to physicians utilizing appropriate mailing sources (USPS, UPS, or Electronic) within required timeframes.
· Maintain efficient and professional telephone etiquette; transfer and handle calls as required. Document calls in patient chart. All phone calls to be returned the same day.
· Responsible for collecting, posting and managing account payments
· Answers questions from patients, office staff, medical staff and insurance companies as needed in regards to billing matters
· Identifies and resolves patient inquiries and concerns
· Prepares, reviews and sends or submits patient statements
· Reviews accounts with Billing Director to determine payment plans and/or sending to collections
· Performs collection actions as needed including contacting patients by phone and/or handling collection agency inquiries
· Participates in education and staff meetings as requested
· Able to multi-task with excellent communication skills and attention to detail required
· Willing to learn Medical Billing Tasks and assist the team with medical billing tasks
EXPERIENCE
· Medical terminology, insurance knowledge preferred
Collection and medical statement experience is a plus
