Assigns required DRG (diagnosis-related grouping) codes. Being a Medical Records Technician works with coding databases and software to input and maintain data according to standard procedures. Performs quality audits of work. Additionally, Medical Records Technician maintains and up-to-date knowledge of coding and documentation requirements. Does not require a medical coding certification. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The primary purpose of your position is to schedule and fill all shift positions with available Nursing staff to assure that the highest degree of quality care is provided to our residents at all times and to meet resident care needs in accordance with federal and state long term care regulations.
Your responsibilities include maintaining facility staffing levels in accordance with Healthcare Nursing policies and procedures, budget considerations, the Healthcare mission philosophy and under the direction of the Director of Nursing. As the Scheduler , you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
