Medical Records Transcription Supervisor supervises daily activities of the medical transcription department to optimize productivity. Assigns, schedules and oversees the work of the transcription area of the department. Being a Medical Records Transcription Supervisor ensures that physician's dictations are completed correctly and promptly. May perform transcriptions as needed. Additionally, Medical Records Transcription Supervisor may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT). The Medical Records Transcription Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. The right candidate will have a great attitude and be willing to deliver superior customer service to our residents and their families. The medical records professional is a big member of the healthcare management team. You will have frequent interactions with nursing staff, doctors, physician assistants, administration and residents and families.
Preferred applicants will be coding certified (CPC or CPC-A), possess excellent computer skills, have the ability to work autonomously, and confidence to reach out to their resources when help is needed. The medical records position at View Ridge has been an absolute asset to the team in its ability to use Point Click Care, our (eMAR) at a very high level, to resolve issues, perform audits, and continue along in our path of going to a paperless system.
