Description

Ludlow Health Center is in search of candidates interested in a health care opportunity to work directly with physicians, patients, and the clinical support staff in a Medical Scribe role which is a critical member of the patient care team. This is a non-clinical role for which on-site training is provided and certification is not required but would be an equally beneficial opportunity for a Medical Assistant applicant. 

The Medical Scribe will:

• Handle clinical data entry responsibilities for providers. 
• Accompany providers during patient visits to assist in documenting their assessment and exam in real time. 
• Gain substantial knowledge in how to appropriately record patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures, treatment plans, medical opinions of consultants, diagnoses’, medication/prescription information, and follow-up instructions within the electronic health record. 
• Monitor pending labs and radiology orders for results to help guide patient care.
• Perform chart preparation per clinic protocol.
• Notify provider of relevant quality metrics, and document appropriately.
• Review completed charts with the provider.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain patient flow in the office.
• Handle the release of Protected Health Information (PHI) timely and appropriately.
• Demonstrate excellence in patient service.
• Represent North Star Health in a positive helpful manner. Consistently demonstrate behavior that supports the mission of the organization.
• Commit to an acceptable level of availability and flexibility within your schedule. 
• Ensure safe practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Previous experience working in healthcare environment (preferred)
• Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. 
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task. 
• Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills. 
• Ability to work collaboratively with all team-members. 
• Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information. 
• Flexible, outgoing, and comfortable floating within the North Star Health Clinics as needed for critical staffing needs.
