Job Title: Medical Scribe

Job Summary:

The Medical Scribe is responsible for the accurate real-time documentation of patient encounters for their assigned on-site physician. The Medical Scribe is also responsible for tracking lab and imaging orders and their results. The Medical Scribe must demonstrate a proficiency in typing and utilizing EHR.

Job Responsibilities/ Tasks:

• Appropriately interact and communicate with medical staff, management and support staff to provide the best possible patient care
• Collaborate with physicians to deliver efficient patient care
• Compile and process orders for tests, procedures, and other treatments
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive (HIPAA) patient information
• Record/Transcribe patient documentation in EHR, in real-time
• Retrieve and prepare patient records for physicians prior to appointments and procedures

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to proficiently utilize computers and other relevant technology
• Ability to appropriately communicate and interact with patients and physicians
• Ability to excel in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Ability to work efficiently as a team member with other staff members
• Ability to type at a quick pace (60 WPM) without errors
• Strong knowledge of HIPPA regulations
• Strong knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Knowledge of medical documentation and medical coding (Preferred)

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree with pre-health career track (Preferred)

Experience:

· Experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)

· EMR systems experience (Preferred)

Schedule:

• Full time
• Monday to Friday
• 8-10 hour shift depending on physician schedule

Salary:

• Starting rate of $15.00/hourly
