Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our Clinic in the role of CMA/Scribe. This position is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week).
When functioning as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, the medical assistant will work under the direction of the physician or other designated licensed staff, provides routine patient care in an ambulatory setting. The medical assistant is able to work as part of a team and perform both clinical and administrative duties. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, obtaining preliminary visit information, preparing patients for examination/procedure, sterilization of medical instruments and administering medications as directed by provider or designee. The medical assistant will work at the clinic location that the Provider is scheduled to work at for the day. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and filling out insurance forms/paperwork.
When functioning as a scribe, the Clinic medical assistant - Scribe is responsible for transcribing in real time medical dictated legal information for inclusion in the electronic health record for selected patients. This allows for the time the physician spent with the patient to be efficient and effective. The Clinic Scribe will work at the clinic location that the Provider is scheduled to work at for the day and attend selected patient appointments with the provider.
