Childrens Medical Associates is looking for a reliable compassionate Medical Assistant to help care for our pediatric patients during office visits. You will work under the supervision of our pediatricians with our caring team of RNs, LPNs and MAs. Medical Assistants must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will have experience with pediatrics and be compassionate and calm. We work together as a team in a family atmosphere and always put our kids first.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with pediatric patients during office visits
• Set up office visits for physicians
• Record a patient’s medical history accurately using EHR
• Take and record measurements of weight, height, blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
• Collect samples including capillary blood draws, nasopharyngeal swabs, and urines for lab testing
• Run routine labs including CBCs, urinalysis, rapid strep and influenza in office
• Communicate with patients’ family to provide advice, comfort and release instructions
• Answer phone calls from patients and parents/guardians and triage to appropriate person
• Scheduling of patient visits and chart documentation, verifying insurance information

Skills

• Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
• Familiarity with health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
• Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Some knowledge of EMRs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and able to handle stress
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant program

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
