JOB SUMMARY
The medical scribe will work alongside the medical provider and will be responsible for performing provider documentation of patient information into the electronic medical record.
Data Collection
Perform provider documentation of patient information as dictated by a provider in a legible and clear manner, following established local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation and billing. Clarifies and corrects and documentation under the direction of the provider. Completes all documentation in real time and within the same date of service.
Privacy
Demonstrated skill at documenting and maintaining patient care records in a complete and thorough manner. Ensures all documentation follows scribe policies and procedures.
Communication
Communicate to the provider when the chart is complete and ready for review and sign off.
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Courses in medical terminology and computer applications are preferred.
Experience: Medical Transcription experience preferred. Transcription experience in a clinic setting is desirable. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and word-processing software; proficiency normally acquired through training or previous experience. Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to acquire needed information and maintain cooperative work relationships with internal and external customers.
