Additionally, Medical Scribe may require certification as a Medical Scribe by the American College of Clinical Information Managers (ACCIM). Typically reports to a physician. The Medical Scribe works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.   • Busy medical practice in Chula Vista looking for a full-time medical scribe/medical assistant. The ideal candidate will either be pursuing a career in healthcare as a physician, PA, NP, OR have 1-2 years experience in the medical field. We are looking for a confident self-starter with a strong background in medical terminology, basic anatomy, and electronic medical records. Must have strong observation and listening skills. Must speak Spanish.

    Medical Scribe duties include:

    • Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures in the EHR as they are being performed by the physician
    • Must be able to anticipate physician’s needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic
    • Good judgement, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important when working as a Scribe
    • Assists in office procedures performed by physicians including setting up procedure equipment and/or appropriate procedure/surgical instrument tray
    • Returns patient calls and documents patient's chart accordingly

    Medical Assistant duties include:

    • Exam room preparation and turnover
    • Bring patients back to exam room and perform intake entry such as: the History of Present Illness (HPI), chief complaint, medication lists, medication allergies and enters the information into patient's electronic medical record
    • Take vital signs
    • Sample medication oversight and compliance
    • Assists in setting up and cleaning in office procedures

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications
    • Be able to type at least 60 WPM
    • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
    • OSHA & HIPAA compliance/requirements
    • Clinical compliance in sterilization techniques
