Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant/Scribe:

- Greet patients and visitors
- Take patients' medical histories
- Explain treatment procedures to patients
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Assist the physician during examinations
- Collect and test lab specimens
- Record patients' vitals
- Keep exam rooms clean and tidy
- Assist with administrative duties
