Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Maintain patient records and update medical charts with accurate information
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely and efficient patient care
- Handle billing and insurance claims, verifying patient coverage and collecting payments
- Manage medical office supplies, including ordering and restocking as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
- Assist with medical scheduling, including coordinating appointments, procedures, and referrals
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Secretary or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
