Medical Secretary provides secretarial support to clinical staff. Performs various secretarial and clerical duties, such as typing reports and correspondence, transcribing written notes, maintaining records and files, answering phones, and arranging clinician schedules. Being a Medical Secretary may be responsible for entering clinician charges into medical billing system. Requires knowledge of medical terms and vocabulary. Additionally, Medical Secretary requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Secretary works under moderate supervision.     POSITION SUMMARY
    To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • High school diploma or equivalent.Three (3) years of clerical experience.Pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills.Good clerical skills, including but not limited to typing, filing, and organizing.Maintains confidentiality.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive smoothly run office.Receives and routes all incoming calls.Maintains logs for use of district vehicles.Greets visitors to campus.Acts as liaison between schools and central office.Disseminates material to Central Office personnel.Disseminates mail to Central Office Staff.Maintains/Updates Central Office rosters.Orders office supplies when needed.Performs any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position.Prepares reports for the principal as shall be required.Performs any assigned duties from Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent.First in line to answer the telephone for incoming calls. Transfer calls or take messages.Make copies and distribute materials.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
