Essential Functions/Tasks

• Provide a broad range of clerical support for the Judges of the Rockingham County Circuit Court with

an emphasis in, but not limited to, the criminal division

• Must be organized, detailed oriented, and able to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
• Excellent typist
• Proofreading is essential
• Work collaboratively with the judicial staff and Judges, as well as work as a key player in maintaining contact

with the Clerk’s Office, attorneys, and probation and parole

• Ability to work as a team and solve problems on your own
• Use math and mathematical reasoning
• Ability to quickly learn and use the county’s computer software and programs
• General office duties

Minimum Requirements

• Vocational and technical training in legal secretarial courses
• Significant legal office experience
• Confidentiality
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
• Regular attendance at work

Physical Requirements

This is sedentary work with frequent trips up and down stairs. Will need the ability to sit in Court for extended periods of time for observation and note taking. Must be able to carry multiple files to and from the Clerk’s Office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,350.00 per year
