Performs various secretarial and clerical duties, such as typing reports and correspondence, transcribing written notes, maintaining records and files, answering phones, and arranging clinician schedules. Being a Medical Secretary may be responsible for entering clinician charges into medical billing system. Requires knowledge of medical terms and vocabulary. Additionally, Medical Secretary requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Secretary works under moderate supervision. Position Summary
Works directly with providers and medical information.
Performs secretarial/receptionduties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School plus less than 1 year of formal training or education. Medical terminology; secretarial courses; general office management.
1 to 2 years experience in a medical office preferred; dealing with the public. Work in a physicians office or any comparable medical setting.
Substitution for experience/education: Two years of experience or the two-year training program in a community college.
Other Information
Part time with benefits - 20 hours per week
Day Shift: Mon- Fri. 8:00am- 12:00pm
