Medical Staff Credentialing Director is responsible for all aspects of the verification process for medical staff incumbents. Provides regulatory oversight and guidance to the credentialing process. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Director maintains working knowledge and ensures continuing compliance with state, federal, and institutional standards and guidelines. Develops and implements policies and protocols related to medical staff verifications and ensures that the organization and staff are in accordance with organizational and industry standards. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Director analyzes reports on applications and credential status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. Presents files to the credentialing committee and may act as a liaison to state medical licensure boards regarding the status of license applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to senior management. The Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Position Summary:

    We are actively seeking an exceptionally skilled Chief of Staff (CoS) to spearhead our expansion endeavors. In this crucial role, the CoS will serve as a strategic collaborator to our CEO and leadership team, driving forward strategic initiatives and upholding operational excellence. This position is integral in aligning the execution of tactical plans with our overarching strategic vision, instilling accountability, and fostering clear communication across all levels of the organization. The Chief of Staff plays a pivotal role, functioning as the CEO's trusted confidant and a strategic leader for the entire organization. This CoS will amplify the CEO's reach, ensuring strategic initiatives and key relationships are fostered and organizational outcomes are met.
     
    Roles and Responsibilities:
     
    • Collaborate closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and senior leadership teams to translate organizational strategies into actionable plans and advance our strategic initiatives.
    • Keep the CEO and ELT updated on the progress of current or impending roadblocks, and ensure ELT is aware of needed decisions or resources to keep projects moving forward at the desired pace.
    • Coordinate, contribute, and facilitate transparent and effective communication about key priorities and initiatives, including gathering and compiling information, ensuring accuracy, and drafting correspondence between executives, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams.
    • Lead and manage cross-functional and distinct strategic special projects as directed by the CEO, conducting thorough research, and providing well-informed recommendations.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the board of directors, senior leadership team, and external partners, to ensure alignment and consensus on strategic initiatives.
    • Drive innovation and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, alliances, and business development to enhance the organization's impact and reach.
    • Monitor and evaluate progress towards strategic goals, identifying areas for improvement and adjusting as necessary to ensure success.
    • Communicate the strategic vision effectively to internal and external stakeholders, inspiring commitment, and engagement towards common objectives.
    • Contribute to successful change management initiatives.
    • Contribute and add value to internal discussions about MannKind’s plans, directions, and challenges.
    • Advise and assist executive and senior team leaders in setting long-term goals, developing action plans, and navigating issues of concern.
    • Provide leaders with well-researched data and insights to facilitate effective decision-making.
    • Partner with the CEO and other members of ELT to prepare for business development meetings/conferences.
    • Help to prepare the CEO for appearances, media opportunities, and key meetings.
    • Help manage the CEO's communications, brand, and relationships.
    • Identify key agenda items for executive and senior leadership team meetings.
    • Function as a liaison between leadership and stakeholders, internally and externally.
    • Manage recurrent leadership meetings and governance processes.
    • Keep track of and disseminate decisions, action items, owners, and timelines in meetings.
    • Attend and facilitate complex, cross-departmental discussions.
    • Serve as a thought partner and coach to the CEO.
    • Exercise exceptional discretion with confidential information.
    • Possess strong intuition about organizational dynamics and anticipate needs.
    • Serve as an information filter, applying critical analysis and coaching to subordinate teams.
    • Understand formal and informal power structures within the organization.
    • Be keenly attuned to team dynamics and stakeholder agendas.
    • Prepare the CEO for any known issues and deadlines, especially during travel.
    • Create a framework for decision-making in the CEO's absence.
    • Set and maintain the pace and structure of various meetings, including board and leadership meetings, check-ins, and reviews.
    • Develop and deliver presentations to senior leadership.
    • Lead ad-hoc projects, as assigned.
    • Maintain an exceptional understanding of and stay up to date with the broader healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, regulatory concerns, and macroeconomic landscape.
    • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, local laws and regulations.
     
    Professional Qualifications:
    • B.S./M.S. Degree or higher, preferably in Life Sciences.  Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD).
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a nimble fast-paced matrixed environment.
    • Advanced knowledge and skill with MS Project, MS Excel, and MS PPT.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence up and across an organization with regards to product strategy, and portfolio trade-off decisions.
    • Outstanding strategic planning and analytical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of commercial strategy, opportunity, and risks for senior leadership.
    • Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams.
    • Self-directed, accomplishment-driven individual with a strong sense of passion and urgency who can work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment, fostering open communication, mutual understanding and cooperation.
