Medical Staff Credentialing Director is responsible for all aspects of the verification process for medical staff incumbents. Provides regulatory oversight and guidance to the credentialing process. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Director maintains working knowledge and ensures continuing compliance with state, federal, and institutional standards and guidelines. Develops and implements policies and protocols related to medical staff verifications and ensures that the organization and staff are in accordance with organizational and industry standards. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Director analyzes reports on applications and credential status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. Presents files to the credentialing committee and may act as a liaison to state medical licensure boards regarding the status of license applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to senior management. The Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     JOB SUMMARY

    The Administrative Director of Medical Staff Recruitment has the responsibility to ensure that the Physician and APP Recruitment teams are customer focused, and operationally efficient to support the projected growth plans across all of DHIP, C-DHIP, Duke Primary Care, and hospital based . This position will report directly to the Associate Vice President of Clinician Services and accountable for leading and managing manage the Medical Staff Recruitment Team consisting of recruiters and administrative staff. This role will assess and develop forward thinking staffing and sourcing approach consistent with organizational needs.  The leader in this position will collaborate with senior departmental leaders across DHIP and DUHS. This position has the responsibility to improve processes with a  change management mindest yielding positive outcomes. This position has the responsibility to provide direction, leadership, and change to the team.

     

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides management and leadership to the Medical Staff Recruitment team facilitating day-to day recruitment operations; providing direction and guidance to team leaders and managers proactive recruitment strategy that aligns with the goals of the health system.  
    • In partnership with departmental leadership develop marketing strategies and oversee marketing plan for DHIP physician and APP recruitment. Develop pathway for ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies in hard-to-fill markets.
    • Create a team structure that encompasses mentorship, clearly defined performance evaluations, and established a positive results driven approach across the team. Identify and provide the necessary training programs for staff development.
    • Partner with department and DHIP leadership to define approved positions and establishing a recruitment strategy; formulate and report out monthly on recruitment metrics that align with this strategy.
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the function in areas related to streamlining and sharing best practices, process improvement, technology, talent pipelines; will work with internal partners and external vendors to implement and apply new solutions and concepts.

    JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    • Work requires completion of Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business management or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
    • Work requires seven to ten years of physician recruitment experience with at least three years leadership experience.
    • Must be customer-service oriented and have a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
    • Understands the latest provider recruitment strategies, trends and practices.
    • Experience working with recruiting techniques and employment policies and procedures, including EEO and OFCCP regulations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication, planning, time management, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong aptitude for analyzing data and identifying trends.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, online job boards, and sourcing tools.
    • Ability to deliver results with little supervision, and effectively manage multiple projects.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

    • Demonstrated work experience in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Expert document redline experience required. Familiarity with Contract Management software platforms is also desirable, but not required.
    • Demonstrated business integrity and ability to ensure deadlines are met, including re-establishing priorities as necessary.
    • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
