Medical Staff Credentialing Director is responsible for all aspects of the verification process for medical staff incumbents. Provides regulatory oversight and guidance to the credentialing process. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Director maintains working knowledge and ensures continuing compliance with state, federal, and institutional standards and guidelines. Develops and implements policies and protocols related to medical staff verifications and ensures that the organization and staff are in accordance with organizational and industry standards. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Director analyzes reports on applications and credential status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. Presents files to the credentialing committee and may act as a liaison to state medical licensure boards regarding the status of license applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to senior management. The Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     We are seeking a Full-Time Credentialing Specialist within the Land O Lakes Central Business Office. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for maintaining the credentialing files for all FMC providers. The position requires knowledge of Federal, State, and Payer regulations. Candidates must have a background in physician credentialing and have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. *Minimum of 1 year experience REQUIRED*

    • Follows up with insurance companies and hospitals regarding status of physician applications
    • Notifies insurance carriers when a physician leaves the practice
    • Notifies insurance carriers when a new physician joins the practice who is already credentialed on a plan
    • Processes changes of address for practice locations
    • Maintain the NPI, CAQH databases with updates and quarterly re-attestations; Adds to Credentialing spreadsheet
    • Assist Marketing in identifying all insurance plans by physician
    • Communicate all activity with the Director of the physician office
    • Perform incidental duties as needed

    • Employee must provide all necessary computer equipment with the exception of the following which will be provided to them:
    • One Monitor
    • Webcam
    • Connection Cables

    Essential Functions of the Position:

    • Completes provider applications/reapplications
    • Responds to requests from insurance companies for information/documentation
    • Follows up with insurance companies and hospitals regarding status of physician applications
    • Notifies insurance carriers when a physician leaves the practice
    • Notifies insurance carriers when a new physician joins the practice who is already credentialed on plan
    • Tracks the above information to promote speed of processing
    • Processes change of addresses for each practitioner/practice location
    • Manages renewals (medical licenses, DEAÂ's, occupational licenses) for all providers
    • Maintains the NPI and CAQH data bases
    • Works with malpractice insurer to process new physicians and renewals
    • Obtains loss run reports, as indicated
    • Maintains a current contract listing, identifying the credentialing status of all physicians for plan and updates the SharePoint site information.
    • Assists Marketing in identifying all insurance plans by physicians. Updates the Insurance Plans via the FMC internet for each provider.
    • Maintains a resource file on each practitioner electronically which include copies of:
    • Current licenses/DEA/malpractice
    • Board certifications
    • Notification of plan participation
    • Hospital privilege information
    • Claims history
    • Confidential documentation
    • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

    • High level verbal and written communication skills
    • Above average ability to manage multiple asks simultaneously
