Medical Staff Credentialing Director is responsible for all aspects of the verification process for medical staff incumbents. Provides regulatory oversight and guidance to the credentialing process. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Director maintains working knowledge and ensures continuing compliance with state, federal, and institutional standards and guidelines. Develops and implements policies and protocols related to medical staff verifications and ensures that the organization and staff are in accordance with organizational and industry standards. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Director analyzes reports on applications and credential status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. Presents files to the credentialing committee and may act as a liaison to state medical licensure boards regarding the status of license applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to senior management. The Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Staff Coordinator. As a Medical Staff Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the credentialing and privileging process for our medical staff members, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

    Responsibilities
    • Managing the credentialing process for new medical staff applicants, including collecting and verifying all required documentation and credentials.
    • Conducting primary source verification of medical licenses, board certifications, and other credentials.
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date credentialing files for all medical staff members.
    • Coordinating medical staff meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and disseminating meeting materials.
    • Assisting with the preparation and submission of reports to regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
    • Serving as a liaison between medical staff members, department heads, and administration to address any credentialing-related issues or concerns.
    • Assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical staff credentialing and privileging.

    Qualifications
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills in Word, Excel and other data entry processes.
    • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills with computers and various software programs.
    • Must be well-organized for prioritization of responsibilities and detail-oriented.
    • Must have independent judgment skills and be able to cope with interruptions and rush projects.
    • Must be able to establish effective working relations with the Medical Staff and other hospital departments.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
    • May require the current Notary Public Commission. Preferred
    • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist by the National Association of Medical Staff Services. Preferred
