Medical Staff Credentialing Manager manages staff that process credentialing and recredentialing applications for health care providers. Oversees department operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Manager implements policies and procedures to ensure that applications are properly verified and accurately uploaded into an online credentialing database system. Analyzes reports on applications and credentialing status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Manager prepares files for the credentialing committee and may act as a liaison to state medical licensure boards regarding the status of license applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to a director. The Medical Staff Credentialing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Role & Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the credentialing process for healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other allied health professionals.
    • Review credentialing and associated documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity.
    • Verify the authenticity of licenses, certifications, education, training, and other credentials through primary source verification methods.
    • Communicate with healthcare professionals and external organizations to obtain missing or additional information as needed.
    • Maintain detailed records of credentialing activities, including application status, expiration dates, and renewal requirements.
    • Monitor and track credentialing deadlines to ensure timely renewals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Service and Operations, to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
    • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices related to credentialing.
    • Provide support during audits, inspections, and accreditation surveys related to credentialing processes.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • HS Diploma required, 2 year college degree preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credentialing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • 2 years of experience with Onboarding new hires strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of credentialing standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements (e.g., NCQA, Joint Commission).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Authorized to Work in the United States
    • Daily Reliable Transportation
