  • JOB DESCRIPTION: With assistance and oversight from senior team members, the Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process for outpatient office providers and inpatient hospital providers. Works with administration to ensure interpretation and compliance with the appropriate accrediting while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the statues and laws relating to credentialing.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Duties and responsibilities of the credentialing specialist are:

    • Maintain individual provider files to include up to date information needed to complete the required governmental and commercial payer credentialing applications
    • Maintain internal provider grid to ensure all information is accurate and logins are available
    • Work with providers to apply for and renew annually all provider licenses; Professional, DEA, Controlled Substance
    • Complete credentialing applications to add providers to commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid
    • Complete revalidation/re-credentialing requests issued by government and commercial payers
    • Credential/Privilege new providers and re-credential current providers within outpatient/ hospitals as needed
    • Work closely with the Director of Credentialing and billing office to identify, resolve any denials or authorization issues related to provider credentialing
    • Maintain accurate provider profiles on CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, and CMS databases


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have at least a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • Two years of experience in the medical administration industry.
    • High Volume Data Entry Experience required.
    • Credentialing experience preferred but not required.
    • CPR Certified preferred but not required.
    • COVID-19 vaccinated.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds.
    • Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.
    • Operates a computer and keyboard.


    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    This is a fulltime position. Hours 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This job operates in a corporate office environment.
