Hospital Credentialing Specialist - The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods

Job Summary:
Responsible for organizing, maintaining and verifying that the credentials of health care providers are in compliance with the Bylaws. Works collaboratively with Provider Enrollment Specialist and Executive assistant to provide high quality customer service to internal and external customers. Utilizes independent thinking and judgment in daily assignments and responsibilities. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate and timely service.
- Participates as a team member in support of the credentialing process
- Monitor license requirements through state medical boards, CME and DEA statuses of all physicians and midlevel’s credentialed in compliance with federal, state and other governing agencies
- Able to work independently to develop, maintain and monitor the credentialing process
- Serve as lead on credentialing system and any future updates or enhancements
- Maintains privacy and ensures confidentiality of protected information
- Serve as the hospitals connection to physician during initial credentialing process of new physicians
- Accurately maintain data and meet deadlines
- Keeps the multidisciplinary team updated as to progress of credential process
- Demonstrate personal commitment and accountability
- Promotes customer service atmosphere by being cooperative, positive, tactful, respectful and helpful
- Participates in facility trainings and learning opportunities
- Attend meetings as assigned
- Ensure all processes at responsible physician practice maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies (ie; OSHA, ODH, BOP, TJC, etc.)
Requirements:
- Associate Degree or higher (preferred)
- Advanced typing and computer skills
- Hospital Credentialing experience
