Medical Staff Credentialing Supervisor oversees day-to-day activities of staff that process credentialing and recredentialing applications for health care providers. Implements department procedures to facilitate organized and up-to-date provider databases. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Supervisor administers system for tracking license and certification expirations to ensure renewals are submitted in a timely fashion. Ensures that applications are properly verified and accurately uploaded into an online credentialing database system. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Supervisor resolves complex questions regarding credentialing or provider database maintenance and best practices. Prepares reports on applications and credentialing status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. May require a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to a manager. The Medical Staff Credentialing Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     What You Will Be Doing
    As a Billing Supervisor, you will be responsible to supervise all phases of accurate billing of primary, secondary, and tertiary claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and all others, within the insurance timely filing limits, this includes billing initial claims, corrected claims and canceled claims using electronic and paper submissions.  You will be responsible to supervise the credentialing process for healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with the administrative expectations of MDHHS and the PHIP. You will supervise the billing of clients based on the CCBHC sliding fee scale, the MDHHS Ability to Pay guidelines and the No Surprise Billing Act.  You will provide supervision for assigned staff including hiring, training, monitoring, evaluating and disciplining. Remote work available. 

    What We Require
    You will have a High School Diploma with 5 years’ experience in Behavioral/HealthCare billing to Third party Liability or an Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field; with 2 years’ experience or A Certified Professional Biller (CPB) from American Academy of Professional coders (AAPC) with 2 years’ experience.  You will have the ability to work independently and conduct research to resolve billing issues. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.  You will have a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations governing areas of responsibility.

    –    Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

    Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
