Job Overview:
We have an opportunity for a Medical Technologist to join our Galveston, Texas team.
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.
Responsibilities:
The Medical Technologist analyzes and reports lab values as part of the interdisciplinary care of our patients.
Diagnostic procedures performed may include chemistry, microbiology, hemostasis, hematology, blood banking, urinalysis and phlebotomy.
Hours of the position are for evenings (2: p.m.) and rotating holidays.
No weekends.
Qualifications:
Required Education
Bachelor of Medical Technology, CLS or Science required
Required Experience
1 year Clinical Laboratory experience preferred, new grads accepted
Required Certifications/Licensures
MLT (ASCP), CLS or equivalent certification required
Medical Technologist license in state of Texas
Salary
Dependant upon experience, but will range from $29.00 -$44.00 per hour
