About the Opportunity
The Medical Writer/Senior Medical Writer (MW/SMW) is responsible for providing research, writing, and editing expertise for medical communications initiatives. The MW/SMW role requires experience in medical communications and publications with an understanding of complex science and varied therapeutic areas.
Please note the following requirements for candidates applying for this position: Advanced Degree in a life science (PharmD, MD, PhD or MS) plus >1 years of experience in medical writing within a medical communications agency. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in medical/scientific communications content development, medical affairs, and/or publications processes.

Job Description
Develop and deliver clear, factual, high-quality scientific content to clients while monitoring and meeting project budget and timing specifications. Thoroughly research content areas and maintain a high level of expertise within determined therapeutic areas. Effectively implement stakeholder edits and feedback into all deliverables. Identify project areas that will require input from additional team members and elicit this feedback as needed. Continuously meet and comply with Citrus Health Group editorial and project development processes, good publications practices (GPP), and all other relevant industry standards and guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Content Development:
- Research, write and revise scientific content
- Develop clear, concise, and accurate content outlines and drafts
- Proactively include relevant, supporting research and data into deliverables
- Ensure appropriate and accurate flow, grammar and content in original works as well as in edited, referenced works
- Incorporate edits and revisions from clients and project stakeholders
- Consistently meet project deadlines and stay within determined scope and budget
- Identify project areas that may require expertise from other team members and elicit input as appropriate
Communication:
- Manage successful communications with all project stakeholders
- Ensure that prudent information is shared effectively within internal project teams
- Keep project team and all appropriate stakeholders apprised of project status
- Proactively bring forward obstacles or challenges to project completion within determined timeline and budget
- Collaborate with and support other team members on project tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree in a life science (PharmD, MD, PhD or MS) required
- >1 years of experience in medical writing within a medical communications agency required
- Experience in editorial and publications processes required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software
- Proficiency in scientific research
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Effective attention to detail and accuracy; ability to conform to prescribed style format
- Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome challenges
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
- Ability to think analytically and to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute assigned tasks
