Meeting/Event Assistant plans and organizes live or virtual meetings and events for an organization or external clients. Implements an event strategy to achieve objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Assistant researches and recommends event venues. Coordinates meeting logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology. Additionally, Meeting/Event Assistant conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity. Establishes relationships with vendors for event support services. Coordinates budget planning and ensures that events stay within cost projections. May assist more senior event planners in planning larger or more complex events. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Assistant work is closely managed.     The Assistant Grower position is responsible for assisting in the management of crop growing operations for the greenhouse. This position is also responsible for the proper care of the greenhouse, including the principles and practices of plant cultivation, propagation, and food safety.
    Essential Functions:
    • Discuss plant growing activities with Head Grower that are consistent with planned production schedules
    • Monitor growing conditions and discuss changes in humidity, moisture, temperature and other cultivation procedures with Head Grower to ensure conformance with quality control standards
    • Responsible for identifying crop issues and diagnosis of unknown health or damage problems and bringing it the attention of Head Grower and/or growers.
    • Maintain records of crop activities and observations, including organic pesticide applications, fertilizer applications, and growth records.
    • Maintain current knowledge of growing techniques and technologies
    • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management
    Education and Experience:
    • Associates Degree in Horticulture or related field OR;
    • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in Greenhouse Growing
    Communication Skills:
    • Must possess proficient English skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to communicate clearly with employees, management, customers and vendors
    • Ability and willingness to interpret product testing results and apply necessary actions
    • Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a culturally diverse business environment
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to calculate figures, amounts, portions, percentages and volume in relation to the application of organic fertilizers, chemicals and water. (Or learn make the necessary calculations, etc
    • Knowledge and understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the horticulture environment.
    • Knowledge of various plant materials and applications
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and under tight deadlines.

    • Demonstrated reliability, dependability and flexibility in work habits.
    • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    Physical Demands: The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, often lift up to 25 pounds, and constantly lift up to 10 pounds.
    • Ability to maneuver throughout Company facilities, including negotiate stairs in some locations.
    • Ability to see at close and distant ranges, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
    • Ability to demonstrate normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; maintain corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
    Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
    • Primarily in a greenhouse/farming facility with frequent exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Direct exposure to loud noise levels and moderate levels of dust, allergens and other chemicals.
