Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.   • Location: Altru Business Center 2401 Demers Ave Grand Forks, ND 58201 Summary: The Director Finance oversees financial operations for the health system, including financial reporting, budget, cost, analysis, payroll, audit, tax, pension, treasury, debt, and statistical reporting. The role serves as a resource for Altru for financial related questions and serves as a contact for leadership and the board of directors. The Director Finance reports to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborates heavily with leadership across the organization. Essential Job Functions: Oversees preparation and administration of general accounting, treasury, and cash management functions. Oversees all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules, and journal entries, ensuring that books are closed in a timely manner and reconciliations performed accurately and on time. Oversees external financial reporting and ensure all reporting meets required deadlines and conforms to GAAP as well as other external reporting requirements, such as SEC reporting requirements. Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization regarding short-term and long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Analyzes financial reports and records to include in financial studies and various management reports. Leads internal and external auditors with interim and year end audits. Responsible for maintaining and establishing internal control for all hospital financial functions. Leads the operating budget and capital planning process for the organization. Process includes collaborating with operations to determine their capital requests and managing the capital budgeting system. Formulates recommendations on capital acquisitions and oversees the Capital Committee including recommendations to the Executive Team for review in a consistent and ongoing format. Develops and implements cost allocation methodologies for the cost accounting system. Manages cost accounting system and generates reports for leaders communicating service line profitability. Ensures proper functioning and integrity of data from source systems and addresses problems when they arise. Provides value-based leadership working closely with executive leadership team members, physicians, community members, civic leaders, and other group purchasing organizations. Builds consensus with the Medical Staff, working in cooperation with physicians on related strategy and program initiatives. Develops and meets operating and capital budget targets. Seeks out operational efficiencies and involves employees and physicians in workforce redesign as appropriate to better serve the patient as well as create a workplace that employees can function at their highest competency and productivity. Teaches and engages employees in department financial improvement and performance. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
