Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This role is responsible for providing strategic, visionary, and ongoing leadership as it relates to the all The Ground’s web and social media presence, digital communications, and broader marketing efforts. Each brand within the Ground ecosystem has undergone thorough brand identity work and now needs a leader to ensure the execution of tone, feel and essence of each brand is communicated clearly.
The Ground is based in the beautiful Willamette Valley and is a business that connects farm, food, and people through hospitality. The Marketing Director will communicate the mission of The Ground and its entities, threading our voice and tone throughout consumer messaging.
