Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) is a non-profit agency that has been serving the Brazos Valley Community since 1983. The mission of the Sexual Assault Resource Center is to support survivors of sexual violence through advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention and work to end sexual violence in the Brazos Valley.
Job Description
The Director of Advocacy is responsible for the on-going program operations of the Sexual Assault Resource Center to directly support SARC’s mission including developing, implementing, and evaluating the Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Programs. The Director of Advocacy will maintain the strategic vision of the organization’s programs; develop programmatic policies and procedures consistent with best practices; evaluate the effectiveness of services to achieve the vision; provide mentoring, guidance, and supervision to all programmatic staff and volunteers; and ensure all federal and state grant compliance is maintained. This position is the subject matter expert on Sexual Assault Programs and leads the development and growth of SARC programs.
