Meeting/Event Manager manages and oversees the planning of live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the strategy and tactics to achieve the event objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Manager directs research of event venues. Develops a vendor network and negotiates contracts for catering and other event support services. Additionally, Meeting/Event Manager manages pre-event activities and post-event evaluations. Monitors and controls event budgets and prepares periodic management reports. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Meeting/Event Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Restaurant Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the restaurant.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Hires and trains restaurant staff, coaches and corrects as necessary.
    • Supervises and directs staff activity during operating hours.
    • Markets and promotes the restaurant.
    • Ensures quality guest experiences and satisfaction.
    • Grows sales and profits through operational improvements and marketing.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Oversees food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
    • Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience through table visits and other guest interactions.
    • Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
    • Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
    • Develops and maintains email and social media programs to positively promote the restaurant.
    • Collaborates with other managers on menus and other promotions.
    • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings.
    • Works with other managers to hit sales, food cost, and labor cost targets.
    • Conducts daily inspection of the restaurant, equipment, and premises to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility for guests and staff.
    • Maintains POS for accuracy, efficiency, and optimal performance.
    • Executes special projects as determined by ownership.
    • Ensures cash and inventory controls; performs daily sales reconciliation/reporting.
    • Prepares and submits operations reports and other documentation requested by ownership.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Familiarity with proper food handling, safety, and other industry standards.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Email Applications, Social Media.
    • Familiarity with POS systems and basic internet functioning.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous restaurant experience required.
    • Successful completion of management training and management experience required.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Prolonged periods of standing/being on feet.
    • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
    • Ability to work well with people.
