Meeting/Event Manager manages and oversees the planning of live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the strategy and tactics to achieve the event objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Manager directs research of event venues. Develops a vendor network and negotiates contracts for catering and other event support services. Additionally, Meeting/Event Manager manages pre-event activities and post-event evaluations. Monitors and controls event budgets and prepares periodic management reports. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Meeting/Event Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Supporting local and national marketing initiatives, ensuring restaurant is ready on every level for the beginning of a new marketing window

    PREREQUISITES 
    Education: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
    Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a restaurant environment, experience in supervising and training staff.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is essential.


    Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
