Job Title: Sales & Operations Planner

Salary: $75,000-$85,000/Year

Description:

The Sales & Operations Planner will strategically prioritize work and determine resource assignments to proactively plan and align a multi-week, rolling schedule to ensure work is performed on-time and within the specified customer, compliance, safety, and operational performance metrics. Schedulers are responsible for maintaining a holistic view of work to be completed at all times to identify and recommend solutions for resolving work capacity issues in the most efficient, cost-effective, safe manner. The Sales & Operations Planner will lay out the detailed plan with each production coordinator at multiple mills to ensure each mill is meeting the scheduled ship dates required with our Sr. Project Manager and Logistics Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
• Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
• Periodically compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to anticipate demand for and to acquire additional supplies as needed.
• Negotiates with outside supply vendors; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
• Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
• Maintains master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
• Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
• Responsible for monitoring weekly/monthly/yearly sales and operations forecasts and setting high level schedules to efficiently manage targets and budget goals.
• Serves as a primary point of contact and liaison for sales, p.m.’s, production, and logistics to develop effective schedules and processes for projects.
• Improves key performance indicators and provides a wide array of reports to various teams within the company to ensure budget vs actual performance aligns with short- and long-term corporate objectives.
• Effective communication skills to identify changes in plan and able to provide/work through solutions with various departments and executive teams.
• Performs other related duties, as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of Business Intelligence data such as Power BI, Tableau, Zoho analytics.
• Extremely proficient with production planning systems, such as MRP II.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, Netsuite or Epicor (Lumber Track) ERP system preferred.
