1. Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)
This position has overall responsibility for leading AWPC certification activities with ODA, FAA and validations with foreign authorities. This position directly reports to Sr. Certification Manager, Processes and Designees and is responsible for tactical leadership of AWPC Supplemental Type Certification activities and strategic leadership to develop a sustainable organization for managing TCs, ATCs, STCs, and continued airworthiness of AWPC ODA projects. This position will provide certification and airworthiness guidance to AWPC Engineering, Quality, and production. This position assists the Sr. Certification Manager in all his/her duties such as consulting, reviewing, implementing Certification Plans, Compliance Checklists, Conformity Plans and compliance technical documents, developing and continuously improving AWPC certification processes, authoring and maintaining the ODA manual, managing DERs and harmonizing with the LH Airworthiness.

A. Education
BS degree in Engineering or related, MS Preferred |
B. Experience
Ten to fifteen years experience in the aerospace industry, including a minimum 5 years leadership role for FAA certification activities and multidiscipline engineering tasks, with a track record of delivering successful results in a fast-paced business environment. |
C. Competencies & Attributes
1. | Strong understanding of aviation technology and methods to show compliance to certification Rules. |
2. | Deep knowledge and experience with FAA Certification Processes including ODA. |
3. | Experience developing certification artifacts for aircraft programs (Certification Plans, Compliance Matrices, Summary Compliance documents, Means of Compliance requirements and statements, and Certification Basis). |
4. | Strong analytical and decision-making skills in the face of ambiguity. Proven experience to create plans, communicate them, and lead an aligned team to execute. |
5. | Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization and internal and external customers, and diplomacy skills to serve as AWPC management representative to ODA and FAA. |
