Member Certification Manager manages the certification and credentialing programs of a professional or membership organization. Oversees the development of standards and testing materials. Being a Member Certification Manager develops testing schedules and resource requirements to deliver testing. Collaborates with curriculum designers and instructors to ensure materials present certification requirements accurately and are validated in the certification processes. Additionally, Member Certification Manager develops quality processes to ensure the testing and validation processes accurately measure certification requirements. Optimizes the certification process to ensure members are satisfied and resolves any problems related to the process. May evaluate, select, and monitor outside testing providers to ensure testing quality. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Member Certification Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. The Technical Training and Development Team is looking to hire a Certification Officer. This new position will be part of a new team that is transitioning the Operations Certification function from Rail to stand-up a new, and separated, centralized function for certification.
This position sits within Safety and Certification, which is one of five verticals under Technical Training and Development. This vertical ensures oversight and management of timely required operational certification, provides foundational rules-based training such as Roadway Worker Protection, and provides safety training.
The Certification Officer certifies/recertifies personnel in railcar operations, station operations, interlocking, utility, terminal operations, rail car maintenance road mechanics, rail supervisors, and/or additional operations areas as guided by the Manager, Operations Certification. The Certification Officer is responsible for following standard operating rules, procedures, and performance standards to test and evaluate new and continuing operations personnel.
The Certification Officer collaborates with all Planning & Performance, Operations, Infrastructure, and Safety & Readiness management and personnel to effectively and efficiently implement the Operations Certification Program to meet strategic, operational, and safety requirements.
