Member Certification Specialist coordinates the certification and credentialing programs of a professional or membership organization. Participates in the development of standards and the creation of testing materials. Being a Member Certification Specialist maintains and monitors a test scheduling system or database. Organizes resources to implement testing schedules and sessions, including locations, testers, technology, and materials. Additionally, Member Certification Specialist assists members with information about programs and resolves any issues with the process. Interfaces with and monitors outside testing providers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Member Certification Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • JOB SUMMARY: The Level 1 Certification Engineer will assist with the development of aircraft product certification data; assist with testing; maintain certification data files; and assist with tracking progress to ensure certification projects maintain schedule and budget as well as adhere to FAA, customer, and Company standards.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
    1. Work with more senior certification engineers to review customer statements of work to develop certification requirements matrix for aircraft projects.
    2. Assist with preparation of preliminary cost estimates, budgets, and implementation schedules.
    3. Produce substantiation data, test plans, test reports, certification plans and other seat certification data in accordance with design documentation, regulatory requirements, and Company standards and with guidance from senior engineers.
    4. Assist with the appropriate build up of test articles and assist with seat certification testing.
    5. Review project certification data for completeness and compliance to application regulatory requirements.
    6. Assist with obtaining acceptance and approval of design and certification data with aircraft OEM’s and FAA.
    7. Participate with certification aspects of technical coordination and design review meetings with customers, aircraft OEM’s other stakeholders.
    8. Expand knowledge and expertise on aircraft development and testing techniques, FAA certification and the aerospace industry, in general.
    9. Coordinate with customers (internal and external), major manufacturers, suppliers, ZIM AIRCRAFT CABIN SOLUTIONS corporate and co-workers to promote and support the Company’s interests.
    10. Coordinate effectively with management, other departments, ZIM AIRCRAFT CABIN SOLUTIONS corporate and co-workers to implement and monitor strategic company and departmental initiatives.
    11. Support and enforce Company policies and procedures.

    SECONDARY DUTIES:
    Perform all other duties and projects as assigned by the Manager of Certification or Director of Certification.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    Accountable to the Manager of Certification.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM:
    1. BS degree in engineering or related scientific field. An equivalent level of experience may be substituted.
    2. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and apply the scientific method to certification.
    3. Must be able to create, check, interpret and analyze technical data.
    4. Must be computer literate and be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
    5. Must be a self starter, highly motivated, able to learn quickly, and work under pressure with a minimum level of supervision.
    6. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills, and be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
    7. Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally. (10%)
    8. Must be detail oriented and have good organization, time management and leadership skills, and be able to work effectively in team environments and lead teams.

    PREFERRED:
    1. Basic proficiency with CAD programs (specifically AutoCAD and SolidWorks) and finite element analysis (FEA).

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Must possess ability to maneuver around airplanes (i.e. climbing stairs, on work stands, etc.) and in confined areas (i.e. cargo compartments, fuel tanks, E/E bays, etc.).
    2. Must be able to sit and work efficiently at a computer for extended periods of time.
    3. Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
    4. Normal duties involve filing as well as typical office duties that involve stretching, reaching, and stooping with lifting typically limited to 10-20 lbs. maximum.
    5. Must be able to occasionally work in an industrial environment subject to extreme temperatures and loud noises.
    6. Must be able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
