Member Certification Specialist coordinates the certification and credentialing programs of a professional or membership organization. Participates in the development of standards and the creation of testing materials. Being a Member Certification Specialist maintains and monitors a test scheduling system or database. Organizes resources to implement testing schedules and sessions, including locations, testers, technology, and materials. Additionally, Member Certification Specialist assists members with information about programs and resolves any issues with the process. Interfaces with and monitors outside testing providers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Member Certification Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Responsibilities:  
    Works in collaboration with and at the direction of the Certification Coordinator in documenting student records related to Texas educator certification for the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs. Under supervision of the Certification Coordinator, monitors and audits compliance with state and federal certification requirements. Maintains various students’ records, including, but not limited to, academic proficiency requirements, student teaching observations, internships, practicums, and tracks student progress in compliance with established procedures. Assists with calculating data for state and federal reporting.

    Provides receptionist support for the Marek-Smith Center for Teacher Preparation, to include voice menu and messaging design and update; receiving and directing incoming calls; and greeting and directing visitors. Facilitates special projects as assigned. Ability to multi-task and work accurately/productively with frequent interruptions is essential.
     
    Minimum Requirements: 
    • A bachelor’s degree is required.
    • Texas Teacher’s Certificate strongly preferred.
    • Texas Special Education or education administration certification strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
    • Proficiency in general office equipment operation is required.
    • Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
