Additionally, Member Records Administrator designs and generates routine and ad-hoc reports for management review. Coordinates maintenance and upgrades to database software. Supervise all Medical Records staff. Prepare electronic medical record for upcoming appointment when needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor quality and quantity of work completed by Medical records staff.
2. Receive sick calls from Medical Records staff and adjust coverage as needed
3. Monitor daily operating activity of department and make necessary adjustments in work assignments
4. Recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
5. Assist COO with interviewing candidates for Medical Records positions.
6. Assist COO with Medical Records staff evaluations.
7. Review promptly any disciplinary issues with COO. The COO and/or CEO will determine need for disciplinary action and outcome.
8. Monitor medical records staff for compliance to company policies.
9. Manage PTO coverage within the department.
10. Develop and review with the COO any new procedures/policies that will improve the quality and quantity of work processed. Once procedure/policy is approved, insure it is communicated to appropriate staff and administered consistently.
11. Assist medical records staff with day-to-day operational issues.
12. Communicate with providers and staff in a professional manner regarding medical record issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to interact professionally with patients, maintaining confidentiality.
Knowledge of basic telephone etiquette and operation of office equipment including fax, copier, printer.
Basic to moderate computer literacy including Windows environment.
Skills in identifying problems and prioritizing work.
