Being a Member Services Director establishes service quality goals for the department and implements strategies to meet these goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. The Director of OR/Outpatient Service is under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, is responsible for the nursing care of patients seeking Surgical and/or Outpatient Care. She/he should have a working knowledge and practice of the nursing process and demonstrate skill in techniques of good patient care. She/he must be willing to serve as a resource person for fellow employees and possess an understanding that each assigned area must work as a part of the team. She/he assumes responsibility for the Surgical/Outpatient program planning for the departments in collaboration with nursing schools, medical staff and administrative staff. A graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred. A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in surgical nursing. Previous supervisory/management experience preferred. Current Alabama Registered Nurse License. CPR certification and ACLS are required within 6 months of hire. CNOR desired.
