Member Services Supervisor supervises a group of member services representatives that address health plan or HMO member inquiries, questions and concerns in all areas including enrollment, claims, benefit interpretation, and referrals/authorizations for medical care.     The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. The Supervisor must exhibit genuine interest in residents and show patience and understanding while working with residents, families and visitors. This position is responsible for supporting all facets of service to address resident care and service needs in the Assisted Living and Connections neighborhoods. The Supervisor assists the Resident Services Coordinator in hiring, training, scheduling and providing supervisory oversight for the neighborhoods. The Supervisor monitors resident care needs and alerts the Resident Services Coordinator and Health and Wellness Director when the resident has a change in condition and addresses resident and family concerns. The Supervisor assists in coordinating services with the all departments for the Assisted Living and Connections neighborhoods in conjunction with the Resident Services Coordinator.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to LifeWell Standards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.
    License/Certification Successful completion of State Approved Medication Administration training and a current first aid certificate as required
    Education/Experience Prefer minimum of 2 years of healthrelated experience in longterm care or assisted living supervisory or management experience
    Continuing Education As required by law, attend inservice educations within the community
    Professional Memberships Recommended and encouraged Other Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc. Must have good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral direction. Provide maximum residentcare services within limits defined by delegated tasks
    JOB KNOWLEDGE

    Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in providing related residentcare service

    Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for residents and in caring for equipment and supplies

    Good understanding of the basis of universal precautions to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies

    Be aware of the assessment process and the development and execution of negotiated care plans.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under the supervision of the Resident Services Coordinator, the Supervisor (RSS)
    Staffing and Scheduling Responsibilities

    Embraces the CAPS philosophy and is a champion of culture.

    Assists with the staffing needs of the Connections/Assisted Living neighborhoods including managing the schedule as needed, and directed by the RSC

    Assists RSC with staffing & scheduling and works as a care associate or medication are associate as needed to avoid staffing shortages and to ensure care is provided and coverage of those positions in cases of emergency

    Assist RSC in monitoring employee hours and staffing patterns to minimize overtime and assure the assisted living and Connections neighborhoods remains within the projected budget

    Participates in the oncall rotation on a short term or emergent basis and at the discretion of the Executive Director

    Works a schedule that meets the needs of the residents which may include all shifts, and weekend duty.

    Assists the Business office manager in the completion of new hire paper work, tracking attendance logs, and any other administrative tasks as assigned by the RSC.

    Help the RSC review daily time sheets to ensure team members are clocking in/out, clocking in the right department and the right position

    Assists with departmental paperwork organizing, and filing as needed

    Assists RSC in identifying staff educational needs including scheduling and coordinating new hire orientation training and coordinating all mandatory and required inservice meetings for all house staff
    Operational Responsibilities

    Completes operational audits as requested by the RSC

    Monitors that gloves and incontinence supplies are available for staff use for resident care
    Ensure all infection control guidelines are met and that staff have a continuous supply of gloves and other protective supplies

    Assists in managing the Incontinence Program including ordering of supplies and distribution of them to residents
    Care and Service Coordination

    Completes operational audits as requested by the RSC

    Monitors that gloves and incontinence supplies are available for staff use for resident care

    Ensure all infection control guidelines are met and that staff have enough continuous supply of gloves and other protective supplies

    Assists in managing the Incontinence Program including ordering of supplies and distribution of them to residents

    Assists RSC and HWD in developing, maintaining, and updating resident’s care plan and helps by gathering input from the resident care associates prior to updating these

    Checks the care plans regularly for updates and reports any discrepancies to the RSC

    Participates in care plan meetings as requested by RSC

    Promotes teamwork with all departments

    Observes and reports symptoms and changes in condition of residents to the Health and Wellness Director and RSC

    Assures that resident care associates report all changes in resident’s conditions to the HWD and RSC and document these changes

    Participate in the delivery of care giving and coordination of resident health care needs and assure that resident care needs are addressed

    Maintains ongoing communication with the resident, and resident’s family regarding the resident’s care needs and assist with counseling of residents and families at the direction of the RSC

    Participate in activities as needed daily to ensure quality programming.
