POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Assists in all aspects of membership for the branch including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and scheduling of staff. Develops, plans and implements new procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals.
POSITION TYPE: This is a part-time, hourly, non-except position. Hourly rate of $13.98-$17.48/hour based on experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in creating a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Assists in developing, scheduling and directing membership personnel. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals for the YMCA.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration.
- Ensures proper implementation of Welcome Desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff. Coordinates with Leadership Staff as necessary on financial transactions.
- Audits membership files for accuracy.
- Works designated number of hours at the Welcome Desk, with remaining hours in an administrative role.
- Handles rentals and contracts for the YMCA.
- Assists in administration of Corporate Partnerships for the Sampson County YMCA.
- Participates and helps facilitate staff meetings and/or related YMCA meetings/events.
- Assists staff in meeting and exceeding branch goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 21 years of age or older
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in member service.
- YMCA or other non-profit experience preferred.
- Excellent administrative and computer skills.
- Experience with membership software Daxko Operations preferred.
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
