POSITION SUMMARY:
The YMCA of Greenwich is seeking a friendly, passionate Membership Associate to support the Y’s effort as a charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Membership Associate is responsible for providing exceptional, positive, and energetic member service, responding to individual member and guest needs, promoting Y services and programs. The Membership Associate will maintain safety standards, YMCA of Greenwich policies, cleanliness, member and guest satisfaction, positive member and staff engagement, using the Y’s Service and Engagement principles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Welcome and scan in each member in a pleasant and friendly manner (i.e., greet members by name, smile, eye contact); insure security of the Y by enforcing check-in procedures.
2. Provide exceptional member service, enthusiastically welcoming, connecting, and supporting members/patrons.
3. Project a positive and enthusiastic image on the job at all times.
4. Promotes program, class, and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.
5. Conduct Cause-Driven Tours, member interviews around the prospect, sell memberships.
6. Follow up on member tours and prospects for potential membership.
7. Handling multiple tasks, interruptions in an at times, fast paced environment.
8. Handle, resolve and deescalate member concerns; inform supervisor or Manager-On-Duty for assistance as necessary.
9. Cultivate strong working relationships with members, guests, and staff.
10. Perform basic administrative tasks, such as: supply replenishment, processing, filing.
11. Attend and contribute to all staff meetings and/or trainings, as required.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma/GED/equivalent.
· Relationship Building abilities.
· Previous customer service, sales, or related experience preferred.
· Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments
of the community.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· YMCA Leader Certification within 7 days of hire.
· Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
