The Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming.
This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative andProfessional Staff position, reporting to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and working with the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving / Aquatic Director.
This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving / Aquatic Director in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and administering within the swimming program.
ensures that all expenditures are properly documented and in compliance with university and NCAA regulations.
Helps identify and develop team strategy for recruitment; analyzes future needs; creates promotional strategy for contacting and recruiting prospective student athletes;
develops promotional correspondence and materials for distribution to prospective recruits; conducts recruiting calls, trips and activities.
The incumbent will also have secondary department and physical education administrative responsibilities including scheduling pool rentals, supervising the lifeguard staff and assisting with rec center facility management.
Bachelor's degree required; two years of coaching experience preferably at the collegiate level; strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills;
ability to recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes; organize official visits including assigning hosts, and create itineraries while adhering to all NCAA Division III regulations.
Current certification as an American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Instructor is highly recommended. Knowledge of Hy-Tek Meet and Team Manager Software is desirable as well.
