Men's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's men's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire men's coaching staff. Being a Men's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Men's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Men's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Men's Athletics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     POSITION OVERVIEW 

    The Athletic Coach instructs and works with athletes to prepare them for games and competitions. 


    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Assists with preparing and conducting individual and team practices, pieces of training, and competitions. 

    • Teach and instruct all aspects of the game

    • Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes

    • Works with other Athletic Coaches in general and specific coaching procedures, methods, and techniques.

    • Provides technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport. 

      • Assign specific positions and come up with drills and organized game strategies.

    • Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses

    • Encourage student participation and establish rapport

    • Maintain equipment and uniforms

    • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations

    SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 


    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

    • High school diploma or equivalent required

    • Experience in coaching specific sports is preferred
