Punahou Athletics plays an integral role in the student experience. Punahou is actively recruiting lifeguards to join the Athletics Department.  The lifeguard plays an essential role in ensuring the safety of all students and patrons utilizing the pool and its surrounding areas.  The lifeguard inspects the aquatics facility, assists teacher with pool configuration, and recognizes and responds quickly and effectively to situations.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a lifeguard, thorough knowledge of application or rescue and lifeguard techniques and an understand of facility rules, policies and procedures.   If you have excellent communication skills, thrive in a collaborative and team oriented work environment, have a passion for aquatics and are committed to creating a safe environment, we invite you to apply! 

Position Details:

• Work Year: 12 Months
  
• School Year: 2023 - 2024
  
• Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, May include occasional nights and weekends depending on operational needs
  
• Hourly Rate: $17.00/Hour

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
  
• Current Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED Certification by the American Red Cross.
  
• Prior experience as a lifeguard preferred.
  
• Thorough knowledge and application of rescue techniques.
  
• Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance.
  
• An understanding of facility rules, policies and procedures.
