    The University of North Dakota Department of Athletics is currently recruiting for an Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance will provide guidance to the UND community with regard to NCAA rules, regulations and standards which mandate integrity and fair play in Athletics. The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of compliance including but not limited to eligibility, financial aid, recruiting, amateurism, extra benefits, and other regulations. This will include monitoring compliance with UND, NCAA and conference rules and regulations. This position is also responsible for providing assistance to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations/SWA & Athletics Department Senior Staff to educate, support, monitor, and enforce NCAA rules and regulations. This position is the lead for financial aid and all education initiatives. Must have a commitment to compliance with all NCAA rules and Regulations. Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student-athletes.

    The purpose of UND Athletics is to initiate, stimulate, and improve the athletics program for student-athletes to promote and develop their education, leadership, physical fitness, athletic excellence, and provide opportunities for participation in a sport of choice. Its competitive athletics program is designed to be a vital part of the University of North Dakota’s education system by stressing the importance of each student-athlete being and active part of the student body while making satisfactory progress toward a baccalaureate degree.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist with the maintenance of NCAA, conference, and institutional eligibility reports, academic standards, and eligibility.
    • Assist with the preparation of NCAA squad lists and related NCAA & conference reports.
    • Assist with keeping current rosters of all teams.
    • Assist with the maintenance of all NCAA required student-athlete forms.
    • Coordinate all education initiatives in the department.
    • Assist with conducting orientation/informational sessions for student-athletes.
    • Keep staff updated on NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
    • Assist with the preparation and distribution of informational materials to boosters regarding NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
    • Assist with the audit and oversee coaches’ recruiting records & teams’ practice schedules.
    • Assist with the monitoring of prospect forms and processes, including, but not limited to, official and unofficial visits.
    • Assure NCAA compliance of all UND camps and clinics policies & procedures.
    • Assist with monitoring of financial aid, i.e., scholarships, countable aid, and equivalencies.
    • Coordinate to resolve issues relating to grant-in-aid.
    • Coordinate all facets of the National Letter of Intent program.
    • Assist with the preparation of Student-Athlete Handbook, the Coaches Compliance Manual, and the Athletics Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
    • Assist with the preparation of reports for the President’s Office, the Intercollegiate Athletic Committee, the NCAA, Conference Offices, and other agencies as requested.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, Athletics Senior Staff, or the Sr. Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA.

    Required Competencies

    • Excellent Computer Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Detail oriented.
    • Excellent organization and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with a diverse group of students, coaches, faculty, and staff.
    • Must have a commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference and UND rules and regulations.
    • Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student athletes including having a valid driver’s license.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum two (2) years of experience in NCAA Athletics Compliance through an internship, graduate assistantship, or full-time employment at an NCAA institution or the NCAA Office.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.

    In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced Degree.
    • Experience with CAi.
    • Experience with ACS Athletics.
    • Experience with LSDBi and/or other NCAA systems or software (NCAA RSRO online).
    • Experience with Scoutware or Jump Forward.
    • Experience with NCAA Division I Initial Eligibility, Financial Aid, Recruitment Monitoring, CARA/RARA, and/or NLI Program.

    Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

    $47,000 - $52,500 / year. Full-time, Benefitted position.

    Work Schedule/Start Date

    Regular work schedule; attendance at athletic activities may require working nights & weekends to attend athletic events. Possible travel to attend away team competitions.
