Men's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's men's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire men's coaching staff. Being a Men's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Men's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Men's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Position Summary and Overview
The Churchill School and Center, seeks an experienced, full-time Director of Athletics.
This position reports directly to the Head of School and will be responsible for leading, innovating, and inspiring a positive school-wide culture around athletics and physical activity. In addition to overseeing the administration, communication, and supervision of Churchill’s engagement in interscholastic athletics and our involvement with the Independent School Athletic League (ISAL) and The New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS), the Director will partner and collaborate with Churchill’s Physical Education Department, providing part-time instruction as assigned.
The Director of Athletics will be a positive and visible presence in the Churchill Community, actively engaging in the life of the School and serving as an ambassador for visiting teams and families. This is an 11-month, non-exempt position that follows the academic calendar. Weekend and evening hours will be required at times.
