Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. LAKELAND MENTAL HEALTH CENTER, Moorhead, MN, is seeking a full-time School-Based Mental Health Practitioner to provide mental health support services, such as academic enhancement, crisis assistance, behavior improvement, referral services, and employment assistance to students and their families in the Moorhead and surrounding Clay County area schools. Minimum of 4000 hours of supervised mental health experience required OR a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or other behavioral health field from accredited college/university plus 2000 hours of supervised mental health experience. Driver’s license also required. This is a 12-month position with a more relaxed schedule in the summer months.
