Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Mental Health Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

  • Provide clerical/office support as well as work with consumers, Forensic 16-Bed Group Home for men in Greenville. Individuals will train consumers in basic living skills and clearly document progress on treatment goals. Individuals must have the ability to organize, as well as to set and enforce behavioral limits, work independently and/or as a team member, and possess maturity, sense of confidence and emotional stability. Must have HS diploma or GED, computer/keyboarding skills and excellent organizational skills; physical strength necessary to implement Managing Crisis Safely (MCS) interventions, ability to lift up to 85 pounds or greater, ability to push/pull up to 150 pounds or greater and be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, and stoop as required to assist in consumer care during shift of duty; current driver’s license and must have driver’s license for the last three years with an excellent driving record, eligibility for coverage under center liability insurance and individually held vehicle liability insurance and clear background check. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.
